Handling of Personal Information

MISANGA International LLC handles acquired personal information as follows.

1. Personal Information

"Personal information" refers to "personal information" as defined by the Act on the Protection of Personal Information, which is information about a living individual that can identify a specific individual by name, date of birth, address, phone number, contact information, and other descriptions contained in the information, as well as data relating to facial features, fingerprints, voiceprints, and information that can identify a specific individual solely from said information, such as the insurer number on a health insurance card (personal identification information).

2. Method of Collecting Personal Information

The Company may ask for personal information such as name, date of birth, address, phone number, email address, bank account number, and credit card number when users register for use. Additionally, the Company may collect transaction records including user's personal information and payment information made between the user and partners from the Company's partners (including information providers, advertisers, advertising distributors, etc.; hereinafter referred to as "partners").

3. Purposes of Collecting and Using Personal Information

The purposes for which the Company collects and uses personal information are as follows:

  1. To provide and operate our services.
  2. To respond to inquiries from users (including verifying identity).
  3. To send emails about new features, updates, campaigns, etc. for services currently used by the user, and information about other services provided by the Company.
  4. To send necessary communications such as maintenance notices and important announcements.
  5. To identify users who violate the terms of use or attempt to use the service for unauthorized or improper purposes, and to refuse their use.

4. Change of Purpose of Use

5. Provision of Personal Information to Third Parties

5-1. The Company will not provide personal information to third parties without the prior consent of the user, except in the cases listed below. However, this excludes cases recognized by the Act on the Protection of Personal Information and other laws and regulations.

  1. When it is necessary for the protection of a person's life, body, or property, and it is difficult to obtain the consent of the individual.
  2. When it is especially necessary for improving public health or promoting the sound upbringing of children, and it is difficult to obtain the consent of the individual.
  3. When it is necessary to cooperate with a national agency, local public entity, or a person entrusted by them in executing affairs prescribed by law, and obtaining the consent of the individual may hinder the execution of said affairs.
  4. When the following matters have been announced or made public in advance and the Company has notified the Personal Information Protection Commission:
    1. That the purpose of use includes provision to a third party.
    2. The items of data to be provided to a third party.
    3. The means or method of provision to a third party.
    4. That the provision of personal information to a third party will be stopped at the request of the individual.
    5. The method for accepting requests from the individual.

5-2. Notwithstanding the provisions of the preceding paragraph, in the following cases, the recipient of such information shall not be considered a third party.

  1. When personal information is disclosed to a payment company for identity verification, billing address verification, and credit checks by the payment company.
  2. When the Company entrusts all or part of the handling of personal information to the extent necessary to achieve the purpose of use.
  3. When personal information is provided due to business succession through merger or other reasons.
  4. When personal information is used jointly with a specific person, and the individual has been notified in advance, or placed in a state where the individual can easily know, of that fact, the items of personal information to be jointly used, the scope of persons who will jointly use it, the purpose of use by the user, and the name or designation of the person responsible for the management of the personal information.

6. Disclosure of Personal Information

6-1. When a user requests the disclosure of personal information, the Company shall disclose it to the user without delay. However, if disclosure falls under any of the following, the Company may not disclose all or part of it, and if a decision not to disclose is made, the Company will notify the user of that fact without delay. A fee of 1,000 yen per request will be charged for the disclosure of personal information.

  1. When there is a risk of harming the life, body, property, or other rights and interests of the user or a third party.
  2. When there is a risk of significantly hindering the proper operation of the Company's business.
  3. When it would otherwise violate laws and regulations.

6-2. Notwithstanding the provisions of the preceding paragraph, information other than personal information, such as history information and characteristic information, will generally not be disclosed.

7. Correction and Deletion of Personal Information

7-1. If a user determines that personal information held by the Company is incorrect, the user may request the Company to correct, add, or delete (hereinafter referred to as "correction, etc.") the personal information in accordance with the procedures stipulated by the Company.

7-2. If the Company determines that it is necessary to respond to a request from a user under the preceding paragraph, the Company shall correct, etc. the relevant personal information without delay.

7-3. If the Company makes a correction, etc. based on the provisions of the preceding paragraph, or decides not to make a correction, etc., the Company shall notify the user of this without delay.

8. Suspension of Use of Personal Information, etc.

8-1. If a user requests the suspension or deletion of the use (hereinafter referred to as "suspension of use, etc.") of personal information on the grounds that the personal information is handled beyond the scope of the purpose of use, or that it was acquired by illicit means, the Company shall conduct the necessary investigation without delay.

8-2. If, based on the results of the investigation in the preceding paragraph, it is determined that the request should be granted, the Company shall suspend the use, etc. of the personal information without delay.

8-3. If the Company performs a suspension of use, etc. based on the provisions of the preceding paragraph, or decides not to perform a suspension of use, etc., the Company shall notify the user of this without delay.

8-4. Notwithstanding the preceding two paragraphs, if a suspension of use, etc. would incur a large cost or is otherwise difficult, and if alternative measures necessary to protect the user's rights and interests can be taken, the Company shall take such alternative measures.

9. Changes to the Privacy Policy

9-1. The contents of this policy may be changed without notifying the user, except for matters otherwise stipulated by laws and regulations or this policy.

9-2. Unless otherwise specified by the Company, the revised privacy policy shall take effect from the time it is posted on this website.
