Tenugui: A traditional Japanese craft
ANATOMICA regularly selects Japanese tenugui.
The history of tenugui is old, starting in the Heian period, and reaching its golden age in the Edo period.
At the time, cloth was very valuable and not yet widely available, but it gradually came to be used as part of kimonos and yukata.
A culture also emerged where kabuki actors and sumo wrestlers would distribute tenugui emblazoned with their names.
Pierre, too, loves traditional Japanese crafts and is a big fan of tenugui.

We incorporate tenugui, made with traditional Japanese methods, into ANATOMICA's style.
They have a cheap-chic coolness to them.
Tenugui are very practical due to their quick-drying properties and can be used for various purposes, such as scarves or handkerchiefs.
I myself use them as hand towels at home and as scarves when I go out.

We have a variety of tenugui available, with patterns such as Kyoto-esque bamboo and lattice, Choju-giga (caricatures of animals), and skulls.
Please take a look.
